The State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry and Natural Medicines (under construction) of the Kunming Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences invites applications for the positions of Director, Deputy Director/Leading Scientists. (1) Position Description
- Overall leadership of the laboratory.

- Well-known scientists engaged in research in natural product chemistry, organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, chemical biology and other related fields, who are recognized as leading talents by peers at home and abroad, with broad strategic vision and profound scientific knowledge.
- Proactive judgment, interdisciplinary understanding, strong organizational leadership, perseverance in working at the front line of scientific research.
- Age under 50, with a senior professional title, and able to devote full time to laboratory work.

2. Deputy Director
(1) Position Description
- Under the leadership of the laboratory director, take charge of 1-2 aspects of related work such as talent introduction and cultivation, graduate enrollment and cultivation, major project organization and implementation, discipline promotion and exchange, or platform construction.
- Exerting professional advantages, assisting the director in building a high-level scientific research team, organizing and striving for major scientific research projects, and promoting the production of major achievements.

The State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry and Natural Medicines is under construction and the former (State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry and Plant Resources in West China) was established in 2001, as approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Based on the abundant plant resources in the southwest of China, the key laboratory focuses on the discovery of bioactive natural products and natural medicines including the structural diversity, biological activity and function, biosynthesis, chemical synthesis, medicinal property, and drug development.
